  | | | MaxDB error | MaxDB error 2007-09-18 - By Cappellano, John J
Back Hello,
I could use some help in resolving this issue. I am running MaxDB 7.6.01.09 on HP-UX IA23 using 3rd party backup software CommVault. I currently have 5 MaxDB instances 4 of which the backup works fine. The 5th (production) is on a more robust system with more memory and increased parameter settings for maximum performance. I get the error below when I run via the 3rd party tool or command line:
ERR
-24920,ERR_BACKUPOP: backup operation was unsuccessful
The backup tool failed with 2 as sum of exit codes. The database request was canceled and ended with error -903.
Syntax for backup command: dbmcli -d ${LVC_DB} -u ${SGN_UID},${SGN_PWD} -uUTL -u ${SGN_UID},${SGN_PWD} backup_start BackintFull DATA
I have attached the dbm.ebp and dbm.ebl. I also thought I read sometime ago about the cache_size parameter if set too high could cause issues while executing the backup. Unfortunately I am unable to now find this piece of information.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
