Dear Robert,

I have a really small script that meets my needs:

"dbmcli -d TL1 -u <user>,<pw> db_state"

but our "nagios"-Team would prefer a direct connect from the nagios server to
the database.

You could write a small script that queries DB state via dbmcli.
