I hope I will finally find answers here. I have successfully used the MySQL ODBC driver through DTS to migrate our user db from MySql to Sql Server 2000. The only problem is that the passwords in the user table, which are entered as MD5 hashed values are not carrying over. DTS automatically converts the column to varchar. If I change the type in the Transformations tab of DTS to varbinary on the MSSQL side I get an activex error (Error during Transformation 'AxScriptXform' for Row number 1. Errors encountered so far in this task: 1. ActiveX Scripting Transform 'AxScriptXform' encountered an invalid data value for 'Password' destination column.)
Has anyone successfully moved hashed passwords to a MSSQL database? Any suggestions??
