ODBC Panther Server Problems

ODBC Panther Server Problems

2006-08-15       - By David Mark Weiss

 Back
Hi,

I am new to the list. My reason for joining is that I am trying to
access via ODBC a mysql server on a panther server box.

We have installed it three times, and can't get the driver to load.

I have installed the connector and this is what the odbc.ini file
looks like.

[SampleDS]
Driver                     = /usr/lib/libmyodbc3.dylib
Description         = Sample Mysql Data Source
Port             = 3306
TRACE           = Off
Tracefile           = stderr
SERVER                   = localhost
DATABASE                 = test
USER           = newuser
PASSWORD         = newuser4

when I go to test this connectoin, it says:

IM3

[idobc][Driver Manager] specified driver could not be loaded.

and

00000

[iODBC[Driver Manager]NSLinkModuile() failed for dlopen()

In defining the Driver I have set

ODBC3.51
Driver File Name: /usr/lib/libmyodbd3
Set up File name /Users/admin/library/odbc/odbcinst.ini

With no definition pairs below that.

I checked driver permissions in the usr/lib/   directory and they are
all the same.

It seems I am missing something in the driver set up.

Any idea?

Mark WEiss
