The first time should not be any different from a subsequent connection.
Could you show us the code you are using for the connection and query?
We might be able to give better advice then.

hello,
I used the php and mysql to create the database in my website ,
When I retrieve the data from the database (using select query) in the
first time there is no problem and he give me the data in correct shap
, but when I closed the site it self or closed my machine or stopped
apache server and open them in other time there is sum problem display ,
such as
-warning :mysql_connect():access denied for user :
'ODBC@(protected) (using password :NO)
-warning:mysql_select_db():supplied argument is not valid my-sql link
source
And so on .....
The elusive in the subject that he is correct just in the first time
when I compiled him .
Note: I checked this in more than three machines.
