MySQL ODBC Connection with .NET

MySQL ODBC Connection with .NET

Greetings Everyone,

I am working with Microsoft .NET 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005 and attempting
to rewrite my existing personal website into a form using .NET and MySQL.
The main thing I would like to use are the new features in .NET 2.0 that
allows something similar to Ruby scaffolding where the data is presented and
changed without any code writing by the programmer.  I should note that with
my current setup the ODBC driver does allow me to programmatically interact
with MySQL.  However, whenever I try to create a Dataset with the GUI tools
I get the following error: Failed to call the odbc driver connection
utility.

After talking in the MySQL IRC channel I was not only made aware of the
Connector .NET utility, but also that the problem is likely with the ODBC
Driver and was asked to reference this list.  I am wondering if anyone can
shed some light on why Driver 3.51 doesn't work with Visual Studio 2005
completely.

Regards,

Jason Farrell
