Problem installing MaxDB on Linux

I unpacked with "tar xvzf maxdb-all-linux-32bit-i386-7_5_0_8.tgz " and try to run SDBINST.

Though SDBINST is listed with ls -l as executable file, I cannot run it.

I get "bash: SDBINST: command not found "

I 'm new to linux so it might be some basic problem that has nothing to do with MaxDB.

Any Ideas?
