I just installed mysql 4.0.15 from the "SAMS Teach Yourself PHP, MySQL, and
Apache" book by Meloni.

I'm running Windows ME.

After I run winmysqladmin.exe, I am not prompted for a username or password and
I am not able to run the MySQL server at all.

Can somebody help me. I have tried several times to install MySQL by
downloading a version from mysql.com, have followed the instructions to the "T"
, and have not had any luck whatsoever.

What am I doing wrong?
