MyODBC Problem with BLOB 's

MyODBC Problem with BLOB 's

Hi there

I'm using the myODBC 3.51.11 on a Win XP SP1 system where I'm running an SQL
Server 2000 SP3a.  With the DTS utilities from SQL Server I'm able to get
over the ODBC connection all the data from a mySql DB 4.0.23 even data type
Text (BLOB) I'm able to transfer to SQL Server. When I try to store the data
back to mySQL I get an error message on the BLOB data which says

Error Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
Error Description:Query-based insertion or updating of BLOB values is not
supported.

It's the same if the mySQL is on a Linux system or also on the same WinXP
system .

I'm doing something wrong or is this really not supported by this version of
ODBC driver. If Yes, why I'm able to move the data from mySQL to SQL Server
but not in reverse ?

Is there a newer version of the ODBC driver which supports writing BLOB to
mySQL ? Or is there an OLE DB driver ??

Thanks & rgds
